Read full description of the books:

No matter how bad your past is, you still don't want it erased.

While sleeping on the roof of his father's hotel, thirteen-year-old Lucas Benes finds a baby alone and learns that the Good Company has restarted its profitable kidnapping business. Multilingual and already on his third passport, Lucas leads a network of international teenagers through the hotspots of Paris-from the catacombs to the Eiffel tower-in an all-out effort to spoil a brainwashing ceremony that could potentially turn them all into ‘Good’ kids.

A realistic middle-grade (tween) action-adventure novel packed with secret societies, questionable friends, and international chases.

Read information about the author

Ebook Brainwashed read Online! Paul Aertker (pronounced: ETT Kerr) grew up in Louisiana, where the colorful and exotic Cajun culture became his passport to the rest of the world.

As a traveler and multilingual teacher, Aertker has clocked nearly half his life outside the US. When he was teenager he slept on the streets of London to watch the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. He took the CIA exam in college because he wanted to be a spy for the good guys “(and not the ‘Good Company’”). Years later, he was an au pair (a babysitter) in Paris. While in the Peace Corps in Africa, he built a children’s library.

Paul Aertker is a recovering reluctant reader himself so his personal mission has become writing for kids who are tired of reading books that they find boring. He writes stories that he would have wanted to read when he was ten, eleven, twelve—realistic and exciting international spy novels steeped in mystery, intrigue, and deception.
He wants children to see that the impossible may in fact be possible, and that children have more power than they think. He actually believes that kids can and will fix the world that grownups have messed up.

Aertker’s adventure novels are set in international locales “because travel has made him feel alive and given him an insatiable curiosity to learn... which he feels absolutely driven to share with you.”
